Dr Kyeyune is a painter and sculptor. He has been teaching art and art history at the Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Art in Makerere University for the last 25 years. “I am always rebranding and exploring techniques. I would call myself a progressive, traditional, impressionist.” That is how Dr Kyeyune speaks of his art practice. He is currently concentrating on mastering color and his subject matters borrow heavily from conversations of people with people as well as their environments. In his words, he craves to represent the extraordinary characteristics of his dwelling environments leading to works loaded with commentary and satire.
